"A blend of 34% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Franc and 33% Petit Verdot, the nose of the 2016 Family Reserve Red is packed full of red and black fruit and explodes with aromas of juicy dark cherry, black plum, blackberry and cassis, then gives up aromas of sage, mint, thyme and bell pepper with wafts of bitter dark chocolate. Full-bodied, the palate is generous and defined, offering layer upon layer of complexity and precision, followed by a balanced and structured mid-palate. The wine lingers with soft spice and dusty floral nuances, then the focus shifts back to the black and red fruit. Yum! This is a well-made wine, and I look forward to seeing this wine in 10 years!"
